Clarenville Denture Clinic is the first Denture Clinic in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador to be designated as an Age-Friendly Business.

They want their patients to feel welcome and comfortable with their treatment and they want to exceed the expectations of their clients.

The award was presented to Owner, Dave Patey and his wife, Deidre by Larry Reid, Chair, Random Age-Friendly Communities and Mayor John Pickett while the employees of Clarenville Denture Clinic looked on.

Clarenville Denture Clinic received its award based upon an assessment of 57 international criteria that included areas such as Accessibility, Comfort, Visibility/Sound, and Customer Service. This denture clinic exceeds the established criteria required to receive the Age-Friendly Business Designation.

Random Age-Friendly Communities organization was chosen by the Department of Children, Seniors and Social Development to develop an Age-Friendly Business Recognition Program. An Age-Friendly Business Recognition Model including an Assessment Tool that sets out ways businesses can better serve its customers, especially older customers, has been developed.

During Phase 2, May 2023 – May 2024, Random Age-Friendly Communities will work with 20
Businesses and help them achieve the Age-Friendly Business Status.
